Size is good for what I needed, definitely needed sanded & base coat before painting. Project turned out cute, I was happy. Wood is a bit soft but it worked.Perfect. My oldest daughter died a year ago. Going to make memory box with her baby for herThese need a lot of sanding to get nice and prepped for dye, stain or paint. Very rough.The basswood bottom is extremely flimsy. I glued a thin oak panel to bottom for support.Definitely not worth the price. Look elsewhere for cheaper.I bought this to make a recipe card holder. Loved the slots on top for holding card while cooking. I bought 4x6 recipe cards to use in my card holder. The inside measures 5 3/4”, so the cards do not work. Very disappointing.Just what I wanted and they are turning out to be a must have for family members that have seen how I decorated them.I make hand stained/painted jewelry boxes from this product! They are perfect for my art/crafts.I purchased this box to wood burn on and really like the attractive shape. I wish the type of wood used made the box a bit heavier but it is good wood to use for pyrography.I cannot say enough good things! Ordered these for a birthday party treasure hunt and couldn’t believe how sturdy and well built they were. I would have expected them to cost about $15 each! Great non-plastic option that will last a long time. Clasps work great as well.
