7" White Glass Flameless Candles with Remote - Battery Operated Dancing Flame for Home Decor

This is the first time I have purchased flameless candles that were created to look like they were in jars. At the reduced price I obtained this set, I probably won't return these. However, buyers should be aware that these are NOT shipped in glass jars, contrary to the current description. The plastic is thin so it doesn't really pass for glass visually except at a distance. I plan on displaying mine on a high shelf so it won't matter but the look is rather cheap up close. The moving wick on all flameless candles of this type tend to look odd when not in use but what was disappointing is that the candle appearance as viewed through the top of the jar is also not convincing. On the plus side, these flameless candles emit a nice yellow-orange glow and do not flicker overly fast or slow.The remote gives this set a lot of timer choices which is nice. In general, however, I prefer flameless candles that feature a multi-position switch on the base wherein the slider can be moved to continuous on/off/timer without the need to rely on a remote. On the plus side, this set runs on AA batteries. In my experience, flameless candles that run on AAA batteries, as opposed to AA, aren't really worth buying because the battery life tends to be too short.Mini Remote Rant:These days many flameless candles ship with remotes — so many, in fact, that it's hard to find a decent selection of timer-controlled candles that *are not* remote controlled. If the remote breaks or is lost, it is no longer possible to control the timer features, if not the entire candle. Moreover, unless one likes having a pile of tiny remotes to keep track of it can be impractical for anyone who makes generous use of flameless candles to decorate mantels, centerpieces, shelves and other areas of the home.I wish manufacturers would go back to making battery-operated candles work on a timer that is accessible on the candle itself. My experience is that flameless candles that are controlled by remote also go through batteries faster because they have to continuously drain the battery over time in standby so that they are ready to respond to the IR signal from the remote.Finally, another reason why I would like manufacturers to stop designing flameless candles to rely on remote operation is because I have had cases where the remotes interact with other candles or devices. Another issue: If one buys a larger set of remote-controlled flameless candles — the first set I ever bought with a remote came with six in the set — you may find that if you don't group all of them in the same spot the remote will will turn on some while others remain off. When you try to turn on the remainder the ones that responded to the remote the first time will shut off — so annoying! I realize people think the remotes are handy but in time the novelty wears off.The real test of these flameless candles will be the battery life. I have some that only last 3-4 weeks and others in my collection that can run on a 5/6-hour timer for 2-3 months. Sometimes with off-brands — and there are many on Amazon — one does not know what to expect. Generally my best experience has been with name-brands like Inglow and Sterno. I will update this review if I can get anywhere near the 300 hours of battery life advertised in the description.lightweight and flickering just like the original luminara candles. 2 candles with the remote, perfect price point.. would certainly buy again. We have shells on the bottom and sat the candle in between so when we sit down in the evening or have guess we can use the remote and turn them on and they just look absolutely beautiful.
